Barnsley’s Local Plan
Barnsley Council have announced the launch date of its much-awaited Draft Local Plan Consultation. It will be available for inspection and comment from 10 November 2014. Details are available here for those with computer access, including links to the Consultation website:

This has serious implications for this area, whether you live close to the existing Green Belt land or not. The Council proposes to take the land between Pogmoor, Gawber, Redbrook, BarughGreen and Higham for housing and commercial use, resulting not just in loss of important Green Belt land, but creation of traffic chaos, noise, pollution and empty buildings for several years to come, all in the name of progress.
To assist residents in responding to these proposals, there will be a public meeting at Barugh Green WMC, on Higham Common Road, on Sunday 23 November 2014 at 2:30 pm Come along and see how you can help stop this unwanted and permanent change to your community. Doing nothing isn’t an option.Contact us as follows for more details:

Commenting on the Draft Local Plan
The Council’s preferred method of submitting objections is via the online consultation system. Failing that, individual letters of objection will be required. To comment via the Consultation website**, you will have to register. This is an easy process and will give you access to the comment facilities. Please make sure when you register that you select that you are interested in ‘Planning’ as this system is used across the Council. If you do this now and click on “Receive email notifications about new consultation events?” on the form, you will receive an email to tell you when the consultation is open.
Other ways of making individual comments are:
By e-mail to: planningpolicy@barnsley.gov.uk
By post to: Planning Policy, Development, BMBC, PO Box
604, Barnsley, S70 9FE
Also, the needs of residents who are elderly, and/or housebound and/or without access to a computer have to be considered. We are working on a solution to this challenge for discussion at the public meeting on 23 November 2014 at Barugh Green WMC.

I agree with every body that is against this but think no matter what we do or say will ignored, like it was down on Dernhall Road lower Barugh .It all comes down to the council getting money to do these things to our Green Belts ,in the interest of getting there own way ,I hope we will win but I feel there has been money already been payed .i will go on Sunday to see what they say will help our community what a load of **** ****.
