Recognising the concern about the forthcoming Local Plan Draft Consultation (DLPC), Darton W councillors took the initiative and arranged for a delegation of their residents to meet officials from BMBC Planning Department on 29 September 2014.
Enquiries suggested that Dodworth Ward Councillors were neither aware of, nor interested in this initiative, it seems
It was felt by those attending that the information should be shared with all interested parties, namely KIG, Redbrook Tenants and Residents Association (TARA ) and Barugh Residents Against New Development (BRAND). BRAND had previously informed KIG that they should get together to share their experience and it was agreed that this would be a good opportunity to do so.
So, a meeting of representatives from KIG, BRAND, Redbrook TARA and one of the residents who had attended the meeting with planners took place on 6 October 2014. This was a very useful meeting, with information exchanged and a number of action points agreed, all aimed at enabling residents to make the most effective responses to the DLPC when published. This may involve further meetings. Watch this space.
